In the heart of the Gers, just south of Mirande, I’ll once again be holding a special pre-Christmas open workshop day, and this year’s event promises to be particularly enjoyable. Although my studio is normally open to visitors by appointment (a quick call or email is always appreciated), this open day is a relaxed opportunity to drop in at any time between 10h00 and 18h00.
Throughout the day, I will be giving wheel-throwing demonstrations, offering a behind-the-scenes look at how my ceramics are made. You’ll also be able to discover a selection of new studio pieces, including some one-off vases and bowls.
For the first time in France, I will be presenting my black and white, design-led porcelain tableware collection, Ambit—winner of a European Product Design Award. Alongside this, you’ll find my UK-made table mats and coasters, and a range of textiles, from Greek-woven linens to organic, fair trade hand-woven pieces from Senegal. Across all these collections, a shared modern design aesthetic creates a strong, unified identity.
Of course, an open day wouldn’t be complete without something to enjoy: visitors will be offered tea, coffee, fruit juice or something a little more festive, along with a selection of seasonal home-made treats. It’s as much a friendly neighbourhood gathering as it is an invitation to explore and shop for Christmas gifts.
I’m very much looking forward to welcoming you.
